Pollution Prevention

Andel's PPL division was established as a direct response to our customer’s requests for help in understanding and complying government legislation including The Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) (England) Regulations 2001. Since then we have worked with some of the largest public and private organisations in the country supplying them with products, expertise and services to keep them within the law, save them money, maintain their operational efficiency and prove that they care about their green credentials.

Back in 1992, at the request of the UK electricity industry, PPL developed their revolutionary Bundguard system, an automatic oil and water separating bund pump. Aimed at solving the problem of water removal from tank and transformer bunds, many thousands of Bundguards have been installed up and down the country, protecting both the site operator and the environment.

PPL's customer offering can be split into four different areas:-

Advice; such as OFTEC surveys, spill training and incident response planning. We are also able to offer assistance to companies seeking ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard.

Services; such as fuel tank maintenance, cleaning, decommissioning, supply and installation. We can also supply, install and maintain interceptors and pumping stations through our Interceptor Waste Services (IWS) division. PPL also carry out tank integrity tests, tank inspections to EEMUA 159, drain tracing and bund relining.

Products; such as the Bundguard system, the FilterSepta oil water discharge scrubber, Oilstar level monitors for bunds and tanks and ReBund®. We are also the sole UK distributor of Pepperl & Fuchs Interceptor Alarm systems.

Pollution Response; such as 24/7 incident response, contaminated fuel uplift and disposal of waste oil and spill kits and clean-up products

During the last few years we have taken on a large number of different projects including the large scale land remediation, removal of blast walls and the installation of a helipad and helicopter hanger. No job is too big or too small and we will be happy to discuss individual requirements on a project by project basis.
